Mike Simpson

Mike Simpson is a retired corporate executive who has spent the last 12 years serving non-profit organizations. He served the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County as its CEO from 2012-2019 as well as Strategic Fundraising Executive. He served as the Executive Director of Arts of Collin County from 2009-2012.

Simpson has a life-long commitment to public service. He began serving the City of Frisco on the City Council in 2000 and was elected as the city’s Mayor from 2002-2008. He was President of the Metroplex Mayors Association in 2005. During his terms as Mayor, he helped to shepherd the city’s explosive growth during the time the city was recognized as the fastest growing city in the United States.

Simpson was named Frisco Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year in 2004. In 2009, Dallas Baptist University presented Simpson with the Tom Landry Leadership Award and he was named Frisco Style Magazine’s Person of the Year in that same year. He has served on the boards of the Samaritan Inn, Rotary Club of Frisco, Heritage Association of Frisco, Museum of the American Railroad, Stonebriar Country Club and BGCCC.

A West Virginia native, Simpson moved to Ohio where he graduated from the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife Sandy recently celebrated 62 years of marriage and have three children and five grandchildren.
